Spring CSA #4 2013

Spring CSA#4

Good morning everybody!
It's our last day of Spring CSA! Just wanted to thank you for joining and we hope you enjoyed the experience.  Our summer CSA is sold out but we still have a few spots for Fall and online there is the option to put a deposit of 50$ to reserve your spot or it can also be paid in full.

We had a wet harvest day yesterday but got it done.

In your basket today you will find:

1 bag of Kale
1 bag of Swiss Chard
1 Bag of Chez Nous Mix
1 Bag of Hakurei Turnips
1 bag of Oregano
1 bunch of Green Garlic

Kale-you will notice the hardiness of these Kale leaves as they are from the outside fields.

Swiss Chard ...I love Swiss Chard this taste best just lightly cooked -but as usual start with the thicker stems so it all cooks equally.

Hakurei Turnips- In Salads or cooked-delicious cooked with eggs!

This is curly endive - it has a stronger flavor and there is some in your salad greens.

Oregano. Fresh oregano can be used in pasta dishes, potato dishes, on pizza etc... Any you are not using can be dried to a crisp in an airy space and crumbled and saved for later. Oregano is one herb that is most often used dried.

Well thanks everybody!

Have a happy and healthy summer!
